She was born on 14.03.1925 as youngest daugher of Count Joseph of Schaeberg and his wife Ghislaine, née Comtesse de Berlaymont. On 21.10.1954 she married count Alram zu Ortenburg, who died in 2007. Together the couple had 4 children.

Fürst Alexander and Fürstin Nadja Anna zu Schamuburg-Lippe recently presented their daughter Philomena who was borin on 10. July. The presentation took recently place in the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten in Munich.

The Princess will soon be christened at Bückeburg Castel on her full name: Philomena Sylvia Huberta Amelie Juliane Vera Marie-Anna. As the Couple decied at their Wedding that sons would be chrstened evalelic and daughters catholic she will be christened in a catholic Ceremony. The godpartents will be Princess Philomena of France, Duchess of Vendome, Princess and Duchess Sylvia of Arenberg, Hereditary Prince Hubertus of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, Princess Amelie zu Löwenstein, Countess Julia Ruiz-Berdejo y Sigurtà née Oetker, Countess Marina Wolff Metternich and Countess Veronique von der Schulenberg.

Prince Franz-Karl zu Salm-Salm passed away on Saturday 19. November 2011 at the age of 94 at Wallhausen. He was born in 1917 as son of prince Franz zu Salm-Salm and his wife Maria Anna, née Baroness of Dalberg. Until 1944 he leaded the administration of the Family Posessions in Moravia. After he reutned from the War and prison in Russia he took build up the Salm-Dalbergsche administration at Wallhausen as Winegardener and forester. He was also as member of the CDU for sveral Elctions periodes a member of the regional Parliament.

In 1951 he married Baroness maria of Boeselager. The couple celebrated their diamond Wedding only a few weeks ago. Togetter the Couple had 8 children, 15 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Already in 2001 the Copuple got from the State Rhineland-Palatinate the big Silver Medal for their Social Work.

Duchess Elisabeth of Hohenberg, Pée princess of Lxuemburg passed away on Tuesday 22. November2011 at the ageof 88. She was born on 22. December 1921 as the second childa nd oldest daughter of Grand Duchess Charlotte of Luxemburg and her husbamd Pricne Felix, née Prince of Bourbon of Parma. In 1955 she married Duke Franz Ferdinand of Hohenberg,a grandson of Archduke Franz Feerdinand of Austria and his morgantaic wife Countess Sophie Chotek who was createdDuchess of Hohenberg. The coupke was killed in 1914 at Sarajevo.

Duke Franz Ferdinand and Duchess Elisabeth had 2 daughtersFürstin Anitaand Fürstin Sophie. After the death of her husband in 1977 the Duchess took her residence in her homecountry Luxemburg.

She will be buried at the Family Crypt at Artstetten Castle and later there will be also an memorial Service in the St. Michales Church in Luxemburg.

Castle Church Stuttgart

The Castle Church in Stuttgart was build from 1558-1562 by Alberlin Tretsch and was the first protestant Church in Württemberg. It lies in one Wing of the Alte Schloß and the entrance is in the Couirt of Arcades of the Castle. According to protestant unterstanding the Altar and the puilbit should be seen from all places and where placed as equal objects of Art. They where designed by Sem Schlör. After the catholic line had come to Power in Württemberg they room wasn't used as Church anymore. From 12810 it ws used first as Library and later as the Court Pharmacy. In 1865 the Church was renovated in the newgothic stlye according to plans of the Architect Alexander Tritchler. There was also a Vault errected which is below the Church. The Church was reopend on 26.11.1854. In this Vault are buried King Karl I. and Queen Olga, née Grrand Duchess of Russia, their adopted daughter Duchess Vera, née Grand Duchess of Russia and her husband Duke Wilhelm Eugen and their little son, Duke Karl Eugen.

Today the Church is used as preaching place of the protesant Stiftschurch parish. She is often used for Weddings.

According to Marlene König the engagement was confirmed between Prince Dominik zu Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rosenberbg and Countess Olga zu CastellRüdenhausen. Prince Dominik is the youngest son of Fürst Alois Konstantin zu Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rosenberg and Fürstin Anastasia, née Pricness of Prussia and Coutness Olga is the oldest daughter of Fürst Johann Friedrich zu Castell-Rüdenhausen and Fürstin Maria, née Coutness of Schönborn-Wiesentheid. Countess Oklga is also a cousin ofPprince Georg Friedrich of Prussia as her faterh is one of the brothers of Gergo Friedrich's mother Donata.

90 years ago: death of württembergs last King

Today it is exactly 90 years ago that the last King of Württemberg, King Wilhelm II. passed away at Bebenhausen Castle.

Prince Wilhelm was born on 25. February 1848 in the Prinzenbau at Stuttgart as the only child of Prince Friedrich and his wife Princess Katharina, one of the daughters of the reigning King Wilhelm I. of Württemberg. As it became in the 1850's clear that the Crown Princely Couple Karl and Olga, née Grand Duchess of Russia would remain childless he was educated as heir to the Throne as he was at place 3 in the line of succession at that time after Crown Prince Karl and his father, Prince Friedrich. In Tübingen and Göttingen he studied law and Staats-/finacial science and joined the Corps Suevia Tübingen and Göttingen Bremensia. Later he joined in Potsdam the prussian Militär.

On 15. February 1877 he made a true Lovematch when he married at Arolsen Princess Marie zu Waldeck and Pyrmont. Soon in December of the same year the first child, Princess Pauline was born. In July 1880 the heir, Prince Ulrich was born. But unfortunately the young Prince died already 5 months later. In April 1882 the Princess gave birth to a stillborn daughter. The Princss died 3 days later. On 8. April 1886 Prince Wilhelm married again this time Princess Charlotte zu Schaumbrug-Lippe, from the so called Nachold-line of the Princely Family. But unfotunately this marriage remained childless.

On 6. Ocotober 1891 King Karl I. died and Wilhelm now became his successor as King Wilhelm II. Many of the sovereign rights had fallen to the German Emperor. King Willhelm used a rather large middle-class lifestyle and lived also aftrer his accession to the throne at the Wilhelmspalais at Stuttgart and the Neue Schloß was only used for official Events. Without guard or escort, he went to walk in the last days of his government in Stuttgart. Men from the bourgeoisie, he invited them to "Mr. evenings" in his residence in the Wilhelmspalais. For domestic servants and agricultural workers, he introduced a health insurance. And taxes were first levied in Württemberg after the actual income of citizens.
Under his patronage the Socialist Congress was held in Stuttgart, at the court theater plays were performed, which were banned in other countries, for example, by Frank Wedekind, at whose performances the Royal Couple together was present.
The outbreak of World War II shocked King Willhelm II. with tears in his eyes, he discharged the troops in Stuttgart.

Since the end of October 1918 there where more and more demonstrations and protests against the existing social order. Also in the elimination of the Württemberg monarchy was demanded. At a meeting of the demonstrators with the Mionister of the Intereieur Köhler on 04. November 1918 the protesters agreed that King Wilhelm II - highly appreciated by his subjects - have an exemplary act constitutionally, one of the leaders who demanded the abdication. The spartacisr Seebacher formulated as follows, however: „s'isch aber wegen dem Sischtem“ ("however, it is because of the system ") At the 9. November 1918, a revolutionary crowd was penetrated with foreign leaders in part to the Wilhelmsplais, King Wilhelm II. eventually left the evening in Stuttgart Bebenhausen direction. That assisted him in this situation, no one, he never relatives. On 30 November 1918, he renounced the crown and assumed the title of Duke of Württemberg. The provisional government assured him on 29 November 1918 very obligingly, that he would retain in addition to an annual pension of 200,000 marks and a lifetime residency rights in the hunting lodge Bebenhausen the unrestricted right to dispose of his private property.

The last years where spent in Bebenhausen and more at Friedrichshafen. King Wilhelm II. died in the morning of the 2. October 1921 at Bebenhausen Castle. He was lying in State at Bebenhausen and on 7. Ocotober the coffin was brought to Marienwahl his House at Ludwigsburg according to his own wishes the coffin was not carried through Stuttgart but around it. From Marienwahl the coffin was brought to the Old burial ground at Ludwigsbrug where he was buried next to his first wife and son.

After his death the headship of the Royal House passed to the so called catholic line of the House of Würtztemberg and the present Head of the House is Duke Carl. Since 1993 there is again a connection to King Wilhelm II. as Duke Friedrich, the oldest son and heir of duke Carl, married in 1993 Princess Marie zu Wied who is a great-great-granddaughter of King Wilhelm II. through his daughter Princess Pauline who was marrid to Fürst Friedrich zu Wied.

A religious Wedding is planned for Spring 2012. Coount Charles is the oldest child and only son of Count Anton-Wolfgang of Faber-Castell and works since 2009 for an internation mamagement consulting Firm in Munich.

The first child of Prince Antonius zu Fürtenberg and his wife Matilda, née Countess Barromeo was born in the afternoon of Thursday 22. September at Turin. The happy coupolke married in June at the Isola Bella The little boy was named Karl Anton and has a round head and dark hair. The happy new was announced yesterday at Donauscheschingen during the procession of the Riding-Festival in the presence of the happy grandmother, Fürstin Maximiliane.

Prince Rasso of Bavaria passed way at his home at Tutzing near Lake Starberg on 12.09.2011 at the age of 85. He was born in 1926 as youngest child of Prince Franz of Bavaria and his wife Isabella, nee Princess of Croy and a grandson of the last bavarian King Ludwig III. In the late 1930's his parents and Family lived in Hungary and only returned to Germany after 1945. In 1955 Prince Rasso married Archduchess Therese of Austria, Princess of Tuscany and had 7 children with her.

In his private life he breeded dachshunds.

Georg Friedrich and Sophie - Wedding Day

In the morning of the Wedding Day i meet very early with Gabi and Anuschka as wehad no Press-Accredition unlike Stig, netty and Sofia. So we soon went to the church and secured us a place just outside the Entrance Gate which to the the part of the Park sorrounding the Church. There we meet another Royal Watcher, Ingrid which we know already from other Events. Around 10h00 the first guests started to arrive among them the bride older brother, hereditary prince Alexander of Isenburg. We asked him for a pic which we good and he said"there will a come a lot more important guests". And soon the guests arrvied. Luckily for us most of the guests walked along the "Allee nach Sanssoucci" the street whch goes to the Gate. As there were also some Press-people next to us we had the luck that someof the guests also posed for us. Only some guests arrived with Cars but they had to go out of the Car before the gates. Short before 12h00 the Families arrived first the birdes mother, Fürstin Chrstine of Isenburg together with the grooms stepfatehr, Duke Friedrich August of Oldenbrug, followed by the birdes sisters Archduchess Katharina of Austria-Este with her husband Archduke Martine and Fürstin isabelle zu Wied with her husband Fürst Carl. and some of theri children. Soon after the beaming groom arrive together with his mother, Duchess Donata of Oldenbrug and his sister, Pricness Cornelie-Cécile. And not much later a silvers Roll-Royce which belongs to a friend of the groom arrived with the birde and her father. They where the only one who drove through the gates. The bidewore a bridal gown designed by Wolfgang Joop and a heirloom Veil from the Isenbrug Family from around 1830 together with a floral tiara from the posession of the Isenbrug Family. Both tiara and Veil had also be worn by theirs sisters on their Wedding Days and are traditional worn by the Pricncesses of the Isenburg-Family on their Wedding days. Short later the Wedding Service started. As the bride is catholic and the groom protestant it was a ecumenical Service officiated by PastorJürgen Wohlrab from the "Kaiserin-Auguste Viktoria Stiftung" whiich is located at the Ölberg at jerusalem and the retitred about Coutn Joseph Henckel of Donnersmarck. I decided not to wait until the Service had ended and together with Gabi and Ingrid went to the Neue Kammern next to Sanssoucci Castle where the Reception after the Wedding took place. Just when we arrived there we could see the carriage which the bridal Couple would take after the Wedding Service leaving to the Church. We then secured us a good spot to watch the arrival of the bridal Couple there but unfortunately just when the Carriage arrvied some photographers took their place just before us so we hadn't a very good sight. As they carriage had arrived the Couple posed for a short moment for the photographers and then went inside. And soon after the guests started to arrive. Somea arrived in buses and Cars and others had walked through the Park. As the recpetuion would not last for to long i decided there to stay and wait until the birdal Coupkle wouldleave. Unfortunately at some point it startet to rain though not to strong. As there are 2 entrances we didn't know which one the couple would use as they had entered through the other entrance then most of the guests. We then asked the security people there and they siad "It is planed they will leave here"- Just some mintues later we some going on at the other entrance and it was the Couiple leaving. We run up and where there just in time to see the Couple driving back to their Hotels. They same did we no also and later we meet up with Anuschka, Sofia, Netty and Stig to have dinner. We originall had planned to go to the Orangerie in the evening to see the guests arrive there for the Dinner Dansart but as already in the afternoon roads where closed there we deciced not to go and stay at the Luisenplatz where some of the Hotely are in which the guests stayed. And we could see quiet a few there. The first one was Duke Franz of Bavaria, and we also saw the Fürst and Fürstin zu Castell-Castellm the Fürst and Fürstin zu Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rosenberg and a few more. We could also stand opposide the street when the birdal Couple and their families left their Hotel and could see the birde wearing the gorgeous prussian meander tiara.

Georg Friedrich and Sophie - pre Wedding Concert

On the occasion of the Wedding of Prince Georg Friedrich of Prussia and Princess Sophie of Isenbrug i made some vacation in Potsdam and later also Berlin. I arrived there on Wednesday a few ddays before the Wedding. After the arrival i meet with some Anuschka and Sofia who had also arrived on this morning. We visited as first the Friedenskirche the location for the upcoming Wedding as this was the first days it was open to the public. As we had seen allof it we walked back and at the Luisenplatz we spotted the bridal Coupletalking to some other people. We waited until they where ready then we asked if we could take a pic of them.

We later continued with sightseeing on this dayand visited first Cecilienhof Castle where Crown prince Wilhelm and Crown Princess Cecilie with their family lived until 1945. Afterwards we went to the Marblepalace.

One the next day we and 2 other friends wo had arrived later on Wedneday contnued with sightseeing. In the morning we walked pas the Church again where preparations for the Wedding where in full forche with flowers delivered and technical equpment beeing installed for the Live-Broadcast. After we where joined by 2 more friends we visited among others the Neue Kammern where the reception after the Wedding Service ws to take plac and the Orangerie the site for the Gala-Dinner in the eveing. After we had vistied Sanssoucci Castle we walked across the street behind it. suddenly a car stopped for ashortmoment and 2 eople waved out and Said "Hello how are you" and then drove away. We only then realized that it had been the bridal Couple.

On thext day Friday we all together drove in the morning to Berlin where we visited Charlottenburg Castle and it's Gardens. After having somerest we made our Way to the Gendarmenmarkt to secure the best places there. Ast there wasno official Press-Accredition for this Event we could stand in the first row just a few metres opposde the stairs leading to the Concerthouse. There annual Benefit Concert for the "Princess Kira of Prussia foundation" tookplace. This Event takes usually place every Septemberg at Hohenzollern Castle. But in this year it was decided that on the occasion of the WEdding this should tkae place as a pre-Wedding Event in Berlin.The first guests arrived at around 18h00 local time. On of the first to arrive was the bridal Couple who posed on the staris for the gathered Press Short later Sophie's parents Fürst Franz Alexander and Fürstin Christine arrived together with their younger son Prince Victor. Most of the around 1000 guests arrived with busses and had to walk to the Concert Hall.

Wedding at Schleiz

On Saturday 03.09.2011 the Bergkirche at Schleiz saw a noble Wedding when Princess Benigna Reuß married there the spanish noble Oscar de Ascou y Planes. Although both the bridal couple is catholic it was their wish to marry at the Berkirche at Schleiz which is a protestant Chruch as it has many connections to the Family of the bride. After the Wedding Service which lasted for around 2 hours a reception took place at the Summer Plaace at Greiz.

The civil Wedding of Princess Alice zu Hohenlohe-Bartenstein and Prince Christian zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg took place on 26.08.2011 at Schrizberg. prince Alice is the oldst daughter of Fürst Ferdinand zu Hohenlohe-Bartenstein and his wife Franziska, née Princess zu Oettingen-Oettingen and Oettingen-Spielberg. The groom is a son of Prince Peter zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg and his wife Judith, née Mártonffy-Dudutz. The religious Wedding as planned for 27. August but had to be postponed because the mother of the bride has becomen seriously ill.

On Saturday 20.08.2011 the religious Wedding of Prince Louis zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Sayn and Countess Philippa Spannocchi took place at the St. Jacobus Church at Rohrbach in Upper Austria. The Family of the brides lives at the Sprinzesntein Castle nearby. The couple had already married in a civil Ceremony on 20.05.2011 at Sayn Castle.

The ceremony started at 11h00. The groom arrived around 1 hours before the Service started accompanied by his brothers Hereditary Prince Heinrich and Prince Peter. The 2 had the lists with the guests and showed the guests their places. Soon also the guests arrvied among them Count Vincenz and Countess Katharina of Schönborn-Buchheim and of course the family of the groom and bride. Also the grooms graadmother Fürstin Marianne (Manni) arrvied at the arm of her youngest son, Prince Peter and the groms parents Fürst Alexander and Fürstin Gabriela. Soon before the servie stated the Family came in a Cortege around the church headed by Fürstin Gabriela with the groom, followed by Fürst Alexander with the brides mother, Countess Verena 'Spannocchi and then the siblings of the groom and bride. Around 5 mintues later the bride and her father Count Hieronymus Spannocchi arrived in an Mercedes Cabriolet. They where driven direct to the entrance of the Church. The bride wore a family tiara and a beautiful old lace Veil. As she had left the Car the bride greeted first the flower chidlren (Philippa Karamt, Coutness Elisabeth Hunyadi, Coutness Anna-maria of Schönborn-Wiesentheid, Counts Clemens and Philipp of Schönborn-Buchheim and Prince Alexander zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Sayn). The bride and her father hjd to wait a bit before entering the Church as some late guests arrived. Then the procession in the church started and the Service begun. During the Service the church doors remained open so that everyone couuld stand in the back of the Chruch to follow the Serive. The Service lasted for around 1,5 hours. The the birdal Couple left the Church to the sound of the Orgel Toccata of Charles Marie Widor. Outside the where greeted by the local people who had gathered there to see their Countess marry. The bridal Couple posed then for the photographers alone and also together with the flower children. Then they went into another corner of the place around the Church to recevive the congratulation of their parents. Also the grooms grandmother and wellknown photographer Fürstin Marianne took some pictures of the bridal couple. Then everyone could gratulate the birdal Couple. After sometime the went to the Cabriolet the grok helped to get the train in the car. Then they drove away to Sprinzenstein Castle where a reception took place.

August 2011 Duke Anton Günther of Oldenburg and his wife Ameli, née Princess zu Löwenstein-Wertheim-Freudenberg celebrated their Diamond Wedding in the garden of their Castle Güldenstein. They had married exactly 60 years ago at Kreuzwertheim am Main in a double Wedding. Also the brother of Duke Anton Günther, Duke Peter got then married to Ameli's sister Princess Gertrud zu Löwenstein-Wertheim-Freudenberg. Duchess Gertrud died in February this years otherwise it would have been a double diamond Wedding.

The Crown Jewels of Württemberg

The Crown Jewels of the former Kingdom of Württemberg are since 1971 displayed in the the württembrigian Ladesmuseum at the Alte Schloß in Stuttgart. In a contract from the year 1927 this peaces where given to the Country Württemberg now a part of Baden-Württemberg,

The King's Crown was made for King Friedrich I. probalby very soon after he became the first King of Württembergon 01.01.1806. The Crown consists of Gold, Diamonds, Pearls and Emeralds. The stones and many of the pecaes who decorate the Crown where taken from the old ducal House Jewels, also the big emeralds and the "Caroliniian Jewels" who had belonged to Duke Carl Alexander who sammled many Jewels. It's not known which Jeweler has made the Crown. The Crown and Orb where never worn they where displayed at the Lying in States and funerals of the Kings and Queens. Soon after he became King in 1816 King Wilhelm I. let made some smaller changes at the Crown.

King Wilhelm ordered for his third wife Queen Pauline a dimaond Parure of 4 peaces which was made by Heinrich August Kuhn in 1824. One of the reasons for this was the widow of King Friedrich I., Queen Charlotte Mathilde still lived and that the many Jewels of the late Queen Katharina was intheritd by her 2 daughters, so that there where almost no Jewels for the Consort of the reigning King. The Parure consists of the so called riche Diadem, a daimond necklace with five hanging diamonds, 2 bracelets and earrings.

Yesterday on Saturday 08.07.2011 the first of 5 Reqiuems for the late Archduke Otto took place at Pöcking where he died. In the morning his coffin was brought in a procession from the St. Ulrich Church where he was lying in State to the Church of St. Pius where on 14h00 CEST a Reqium took place.

At the procession all 7 children of the deceased and 2 of his sons-iin-law, Count Archiblad Douglas, and Hereditary Count Karl Eugen of Neipperg took part. Thje Reqium was also attened by several royal guest: Archduke Joseph with one of his sons, Archduke Michael and Archducess Christiane, Archduke Gerhard, Ptrince Rasso and Princess Therese of Bavaria wit their daughterMaria Theresa and her husband Count Tamas Kornis, Prince Christoph and Princess Gudila of Bavaria, Fürstin Gloria of Thurn and Taxis, the sports Reporter Fritz von Thurn and Taxis,. the actor Count Friedrich of Thun and Hohenstein, Archduess Maria Anna with her husband Prince Pjotr Galitzine.

Archduke Otto of Austria, foerm CrownPrince of Austria.Hungary passed away at the age of 98 in the morning of Monday 05. July 2011 in his home Villa Austria at Pöcking. all his 7 children whee at his side.

He was born as Archduke Franz Joseph Otto, eldest son of Archduke Karl and his wife Zita, née Princess of Bourbon of Param, on 20.11.1912 at Villa Wartholz nr Reichenau. When he as 2 years old his great-uncle Archduke Franz Ferdinand was murdered at Sarajevo and his fathe became the new heir. Only 2 years later in November1916 his father became Emperor of Austria, after the death of Emperor Franz Joseph I. In 1918 after the end of the First Wolrd War his father had to rennouce and later to leave the Country. He died on 01.04.1922 at Funchal, Madeiara and otto became the new head of the House.

In 1951 he married Princess Regina of Saxe-Meiningen and had 7 children with her. In 1961 Ottorenounced his rights to be ableto enter Austria again. In 2007 renounced his position as Head of the Imperial House in favour of his oldest son Karl.

In honor of the late Archduek there will be several Reqiums.

On 09.07.2011 at the Church St.Anton at Pöcking

on 16.07.2011 there will be the official Reqiuem at the Stephans Dom at Vienna, with afterwars a funeral procession through the inner City to the Crypt of the Capuines where the funeral will take place

Wedding at Bad Berleburg

On Saturday 18.06.2011 the little town of Bad Berleburg saw royal and noble guests from near and far for the religious Wedding of Princess Nathalie zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg and Alexander Johannsmann. The couple had already married in a civil Ceremony on 27.05.2010 and has a son Konstantin, born on 24.07.2010.

The festivities startedon the evenning of Friday 17.06. with a casual Barbecue for 230 guests. It tookplace in the Castle Parfty before the Orangerie. One of the cooks who prepared the Menue ws the cookof the danish Royal House Lisbeth Bager-Bertelsen. I was there with some other Royal Watchers and first one could see Princess Nathalie, Princess Benedikte and Prince Gustav in the Castle court walking around and discussing somethings. Also little Konstantin was driven around in his pram. Later also Prince Richard arrived in his Landrover. Atsomepoint Prince Richard, Princess Benedikte and Prince Gustav drove away to greet Queen Margrethe who arrived short afterwards in an helicopter on a lawan a little bit outsde. Soon litter the drove back to the Castle. Later most of the guests arrived some drove in their Cars into the Castle Court others arrived in buses and had to walk a little bit.

On Saturday i and some other Royal Watchers who got Press Accredition completted our Accredtion and then went fast to the Church to reserve a good place there. From time to time it rained a little bit but luckily only very short and not too heavy. The first guests at the Church arrived around 15h30 and with short before the bride the danish and greek Royals. And then the brides mother Princess Benedikte together with her son Prince Gzstav (who had earlier also accompanied his partner Carina Axelsson and his cousin Princess Alexia of Greece to the church), Finally the bride Princess Nathalie arrived together with her fater Prince Richard. The biride whore a gown of heavy ivory satin designed by the danish Designer Henrik Hviid with a lace top. Towards the End of the three meter long and two meter broad train the monogram of the bridalcouple was embroidedin pearl and crystals. She wore an Veil of irish lace from1 1905 who was a Wedding gift to her great-grandmother Crown Princess Margaretha of Sweden, née Princess of Connaught. It was later worn by her grandmother Queen Ingrid of Denmark, née Pricness of Sweden, Queen Margrethe II. of Denmark, Queen Anne-Marie of the Hellenes, Princess Benedikte, Princess Alexia opfGreeeces, Princess Alexandra zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg and Mary Donaldson. Also the tiara from Cartier was a gift to Crown Princess Margarethe of Sweden by the Khedive of Egypt in 1905. It was worn as bridal tiara by Queen Anne-Marie of the Hellenes, Queen Margrethe II. of Denmark, Princess Benedikte of Denmark, Princess Alexandra zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berlebrug and Princess Alexia of Greece and is now in the posession of Queen Anne-Marie.

The bride and her father walked over soaking wet red carpet the bride carrying her train and Veil over the Arm. Only at the Church Door the train and Veil where laid down and arranged. Now suddenly the bride realized that she had left her flower bouquet back in the Castle. Now soon someone was send back to the Castle and after around 10 min. waiting finally the her assistant came with the flowers. Now the bride and her father could make her way up the aisle. Short before the End of the Serive which lasted for around 50 mins. it started again to rain a little bit. The the bridal couple left the Church an kised short when outside of the church. Soon the made their way up to their waiting Car a Rolls Royce from 1954. They where followed by their parents and then Queen Margrethe Ii. and Queen Anne-Marie, Crown Prince Pavlos and Crown Princess Marie Chantal, Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary, Prince Nikolaos and Princess Tatiana. Aftermost of the guest had left the church i soon went to the Castle where a reception was sheduled to take place soon. When i arrived at the Castle the bridal Couple and the danish and greek guests had already arrived there. Suddenly a sturm began it rained heavenly, hail was coming down and also ligthening and thunder. The sturmwent on around 30 mins. Most of the guests had to wait in busses before the entrance in the Castle Court. Some of them like Princess Christina of Sweden and her husband waited until the hail had stopped then the walked up to the Castle where the reception had been moved inside.

After some time the bridal Couple and some of the guests came out for the planned musical perfomance of the Schützenverein (tradtitional shooting club) who could take place after all with a bit dely. During the perfomance the grandmother of the groom came out on the balcony of the Castle and Queen margrethe II. was spotted in one of the windwos. In one of the other windows Queen Anne-Marie was spotted with some of her children and Prince Nikolaos took pics from the scenery in the court.

Later in the evening the Wedding banquet for 230 guests took place in a tent in the Castle Garden. After the dinner the bridal Couple opened the Ballw with the danish bridal Waltz which is danced at all danish royal Weddings.

Carl, 14. Duke of Croy passed away on Tuesday 14, June at the age of 96. He was born on 11.08.1914 in Düsseldorf as oldest son of Carl Rduolf, 13. Duke of Croy and his first wife the american Nancy Leishman. He spend his early childhood during the german Empire and later in the Republic of Weimar. He later also served as Soldier in the second World War and later studierd Jura in Switzerland.

On 18.06.1953 he married at Nymphenburg Castle Princess Gabriele of Bavaria, one of the daughters of Crown Prince Rupprecht of Bavaria and his second wife Antonia, née Princess of Luxemburg. Together they moved into House Merfeld near Dülmen where the Duke lived until his death. Together the had 3 children among them the new Duke Rudolf who ws born in 1955.

The funeral of Duke Carl will take place on 22.06.2011.

A memorial mass took place on Monday 13.06.2011 in honor of the famous King Ludwig II. of Bavaria who died exactly 125 years ago a mysterious death. The Mass took place at the shore of Lake Starnberg.

The mass was also attended by members of the Wittelbach Family among them: Duke Franz of Bavaria, Duke Max and Duchess Elizabeth in Bavaria, prince Luitpold and Princess Beatrix, Prince Rasso and Princess Therese, Prince Leopold and Princess Ursula, Prince Ludwig, Prince Manuel and Princess Anna and Duchess Helene in Bavaria.

Tullgarn Palace

Tullgarn Palaceis situated near Trösa south of Stockholm. Originally there was a Renaissance Palace standing at this placedating from the 16th Century. In 1719 the then owner, Count Magnus Julius De La Gardie decided to demolish the old Palace and to build a new one. The new Castle was build by architect Joseph Gabriel Destain. It has a open courtyard to the sea which got it's present Look in 1820. It was modelled after the Logarden and it's stairs at the Royal Palace at Stockholm.

In 1772 the Castle was bought by the Crown and soon became a royal residence. The first inhabitant of it was Prince Fredrik Adolf, Duke of Östergötland, the youngest brother of King Gustaf III. He modernized the Castlein the neo classical style but he died before the Wokrs where completted. In 1807 Fredrik Adolf,'s sister Princess Sophie Albertine took over the Castle and used it as Summer Residence until her death in 1829.
Now Crown Prince Oscar, the future King Oscar I. and his wife Joséphine, née Princessof Leuchtenberg took over the Castle and after the death of the King in 1859 it became the her residence as Widow. Until her death in 1876 she spend the summers at Tullgarn. The old coat of Arms of the Bernadotte Dynasty (who until 1905 included Norway) and Leuchtenberg are represented on the gable at the Garden side of the Palace.

In 1881 Crown Prince Gustaf the future King Gustaf V. took over the Castle. In the same year he married Princess Victoria of Baden. The main building was decorated in the style of a modern functional summerhouse then as a Castle. The breakfeastroom was decorated in the style of a southgerman "Bierstube" reflecting the fact that Victoria came from Souuh Germany. Until 1950 Tullgarn served as a Summer Residence.Victoria and Gustav are represented through a flower arrangement in the lawn before te Garden entrance. The flowers form 2 Coat of Arms under a Crown representing Sweden and Baden.
Since the 1950's the Main-Rooms of the Castle are open to the public during the summer months.

The civil Wedding of Prince Ludwig (Louis)zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Sayn and Countess Philippa Spannocchi took place on 20. May 2011 in the Gobelin Hall at Sayn Castle. The groom is the third son of Fürst Alxander zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Sayn and his wife Gabriela, née Countess of Schönborn-Wiesentheid the bride one of the daughters of Count Hieronymus Spannocchi and his wife Verena, née Countess of Schönborn-Buchheim.

The couple meet 3 years ago at a hunt host by the brides father. "It was love on first sight " said the beaming bride after the ceremony. The ceremony took place exactly 3 years and 1 weeks after the first meeting.

The religious Wedding will takle place on 20. August in Austria where the Couple will live.

She was 96 years and 8 months old and the last member of the bavrian Royal Family born when Bavaria was still a Kingdom. She was born on 09.09.1914 at Nymphenburg Castle as daughter of Prince Franz of Bavaria and his wife Isabella, née Princess of Croy and was a granddaughter of the last King of Bavaria, Ludwig III. On 19.08.1937 she married at Nymphenburg Prince PedroHnerique of Orleans and Bragança, the head of Imperial Family of Brazil. The couple had together 12 children 8 sons and 4 daughter. Her husband died on 05.07.1981 and was succeeded as headof the Family be their oldest son Prince Luiz Gastão.

The Church was first build as an anchor forge but in 1563 it was coverted into the naval Church by King Christian IV. Among other it is the burial site of such notabilities as naval heroes Niels Juel and Peter Tordenskjold, and composer Niels Wilhelm Gadeand contains artwork by, among others, Bertel Thorvaldsen and Karel van Mander.It has also hosted previous royal Events most notable the Wedding of the then Princess margrethe and the french ComteHenri de Laborde de Monpezat in 1967. Hohenzollern Castle

Hohenzollern Castle is located on top of the mountain Hohenzollern near Hechingen. a city on the Swabian Alb. It is the ancestral seat ofthe Family of Hohenzollern. The first Castle was constructed in the first half of the 11th Century.

Later the Family split into two branches, but the Castle remained the property of the Swabian branch, which was dynastically senior to the Franconian/Brandenburg branch which eventually became Kings of Prussia.

In 1423 the Castle was completly destroyed in a 10m-month siege by the imperial Cities of Swaba. From 1454-1561 a second bigger Castle was build and served as refugee for the cathloic swabian branch of the Family during wartime including the 30-years War. By the end of the 18th century, however, the Castle was thought to have lost its strategic importance and gradually fell into disrepair, leading to the demolition of several dilapidated buildings. Today, only the chapel remains from the medieval castle.

The third and present version of the Castle was constructed for King Friedrich Wilhelm IV. of Prussia between 1846 and 1867, under the direction of Friedrich August Stüler, who based his design on English Neo-Gothic style as well as the castles in Loire. Because the Castle was built as a family memorial, no member of the Hohenzollern family took residence in this third castle until 1945. Only then it became home to the last prussian-german Crown Prince Wilhelm who lived her until his death. Both he and his wife Crown Princess Cecilie as well as other Family members are buried on a small Cemetery on the St. Michaels Bastion.

Now the Castle is a popular Tourist attraction and among the items who are siplayed are the Crown of the prussian Kings and some personal Items of King Friedrich II. (The Great) of Prussia.

The Castle is now co-owned by both Parts of the Family. The Royal Family of Prussia owns 2/3 and the Princely Family owns 1/3 of the Castle.

In 1045 she married at Sigmaringen Duke Georg Alexander of Mecklenburg, from the Strelitz line, who was the only son of Duke Georg. The marriage ended in divorce in 1974. At the ceremony which was officiated by Berelburgs Pastor Claduia Latzel-Binder he received the names Konstantin Guzstav Heinirhc Richard. The godparents are Crown Princess Mary of Denmark, Prince Gustav tzu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg and Ann-Kathrin Johannsmann.

Princess Irmingard of Bavaria passed away on Saturday 23.10.2010 at Leutstetten. The Princess was born on 29.05.1923 at Berchtsgaden as oldest daughter and second child of the last bavarian Crown Prince Rupprecht and his second wife Antonia, née Princess of Luxemburg. After her the couple got four more daughters. She spend her childhood in Berchtesgaden, Hohehenschwangau Castle and the Leuchtenberg Palais in Munich which where the homes of her parents. In 1940 she and her Family had to flly because of the National Sozialists. The princess lived the next 5 years near Florence. In 1944 first her mother and her sisters where arrested by the Gestapo and the Princess 2 months later. There the Princess fell ill of Typhus. Only in February 1945 she was reunited with her Family when she was able to be transported to the KZ Flössenbürg. In 1950 Princess Irmingard married her first cousin Princess Ludwig of Bavria in a ceremony which took place at Nymphenburg Castle on 20.07.1950. They had one son prince Luitpold who runs one Bavaria's most successfull breweries Kaltenberg.

The Princess and her husband lived together at Leutstetten Castle outside of Munich. There Prince Ludwig passed away in October 2008 at the age of 95 and his widow followed him in death almost exactly 2 years later. The funeral will take place in private and a official Requiem is planned for 04. November at the Theatiner Church in Munich.

On Thursday 23.09.2010 the Requiem for the late Fürst Friedrich Wilhelm of Hohenzollern took place at the Hedinger Church at Sigmaringen. After the Service the coffin of the Fürst was brought in the cloister of the Church where he was later buried. The Service started at 11h00 CEST at lasted for about 2 hours. The first guests arrvied at the Church at around 10h00 CESt. Only the siblings and children of the late Fürst and their Families arrvied out of the public at the back of the Church. The Service was broadcasted outside on a big screen where the had build up benches for the population of Sigmaringen to folloew the Serive. After the Service all people could go inside the Church to play their last Respect to the Fürst.

Noble Wedding at Alsfeld

On Saturday 18.09.2010 the ltttle hessian town Alsfeld in saw a noble Wedding the first time since 50 years when Freiin Iris of Dörnberg married Prince Hubertus zu Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rosenberg at the Walpurgis Church there. The couple had already married in a civil Ceremony the day before in the Townhall of Alsfeld. On the Wedding day first Guests at the Church arrived short after 10 a clock, the groom and his Family arrived around 10 min. before the Service startet at 11h00 CEST. One of the last was the bride who arrived together with her father, Freiherr Jürgen of Dörnberg in an old Cadillac.They waited for a few mintues before the Church whre the old historc Veil of the bride was arranged and only they the last guests arrvied at Church including the grooms aunts, Archduchess maria of Austira with her husband Archduek Joseph, Fürstin Lioba zu Oettingen-Wallerstein and Lady Nicholas Windsor with her parents. After they where inside also the bride and her father entered the Church. The oecumenical Service (the bride is protestant, the groom catholic) was conducted by the brides cousin Pfarrer Dr. Burkhard von Dörnbeg and Deklan Stefan Reuffurth a good friend of the groom. The Service lasted for about one hour then the birdal Couple came out of the Church followed by their parents and other guests. After they had said Goodbye to the Pfarrer and the Dekan the entered the Cadeillac (from whom the had put back the roof so that it became an Cabriolet) together with the flower children. Then they drove away to the Burg Herzberg the ancestral home of the brides Family where an Reception took place.
Among the guests who attended the Wedding where Archduke Joseph and Archduchess Maria of Austria, Archduke Michael and Archduchess Christiane of Austria, Fürstin Lioba zu Oettingen-Oettingen and Oettingen-Wallerstein, Lady Nicholas Windsor with her son Leopold and Albert, Fürst Ludwig zu Löwenstein-Wertheim-Freudenberg, Prince Franz Wilhelm of Prussia, Prince Friedrich Franz and Princess Susan of Prussia, the Fürst and Fürstin zu Ysenburg and Büdingen and many more.

Fürst Friedrich Wilhelm of Hohenzollern died in the in the morning of 16.09.2010 at the age of 86 at Umkirch. He had already since a few years health-problems.

He was borin on 03.02.1924 as oldest son and 4th child of Fürst Friedrich of Hohenzollern and his wife Margarethe, née Princess of Saxony. After his studies in Freiburg and Genf he took over the adiminstration of the Family posessions.
In 1951 he married Princess Margarita zu Leiningen wo died in 1996. They had 3 sons together and the oldest Karl Friedrisch succeeds now als new Fürst.

On Saturday 11.09.2010 the citiy of Eutin saw a noble Wedding. Duchess Tatiana of Oldenburg married her french finacee, Comte Axel de Chavagnac at the Castlechurch. The bride is the younger daughter of Duke Johann and Duchess Ilka of Oldenburg and a great-granddaughter of the Oldenbrugs last ereigning Grand Duke Friedrich August. She was previously engaged in 2001 to prince Jean of France, duke of Vendôme but the engemengemnt wasd broken some time before the planned Wedding. Her engagement to Comte Axel de Chavagnac was announced in Janaury 2010.

The oecumenical Wedding took place at the Castlechurch of Wutin. As the bridal Couple had wished for a private Wedding the Area of the Castle was closed to the Public and only invited guests where led in. The SErvioce was lead by the former Propst of Eutin Dr. Horst Dreyer and Kaplan Oliver Maik who took over the catholic part of the Serice (the religion of the groom).

Rosersberg Castle

During nmy recent Stay in Stockholm i also made an Visit to Rosersberg Castle.By coincidenece it was the 21.08.2010 the day Jean Baptiste Bernadotte who used this Palace as Summer Residence was elected as swedish Crown Prince 200 years ago.

The Palace was statret to build in 1634 for the Lord High Treasurer Gabriel Bengtsson Oxenstierna, It got his name after the mother of it'Äs founder who came from the Tre Roser Family. In the second half of the 17th Century the Palace was modernized in the Barocque Style. In 1747 the Palace was bought by Baron Erland Broman who again mordernized it. After his death 10 years later it was bought by the swedish State who oput it at the disposal of Prine Karl, Duke of Södrmanland, the youngest brother of King Gustaf III. Prince Karl succeeded as King Karl XIII. after his nephew King Gustaf IV. Aolf had to abdicate in 1809. Later it was used by his adopted son King Carl XIV. Johan and his wife Queen Désirée who spend their summer there. They where the last members of the Royal family who used the Palace. It was later used by the swedish Infantry and until 1961 was a school of musketry. Now the Palace is open to the Public from June till August every year.

Count Christian Bernadotte af Wisborg and his wife Christine, née Stoltmann have become parents of a son. Little Count Benedikt Maximilianw as born on 10.08.2010.
Count Christian is the younger son of the late Count Lennart Bernadotte af Wisborg and his second wife Sonja, née Haunz. Last year his engagment to Christine Stoltmann was announced. The couple married in a civil ceremony on 22.05.. The relgious cermeony who was planned for August was postponed to a later date.

The little Prince whose full name is Carl-Emil Maximilian Moritz-Casimir Arnold weighted 3395 gramms and is 53 cm tall. Golden Wedding at Altshausen

On Saturday 24.07.2010 Duke Carl and Duchess celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary with an special Service in the Castle Church St. Michael at Altshausen. After the Service a reception for all people of Altshausen took place at the recently opend Gallery in the Alte Remise of the Castle.
Present where all 5 children of the Couple with their spouses and children. They only who was not present was Duchess Fleur who is expecting her third these days. There where all some other Guests present but they walked direct from the Castle to the Church and also back after the Service so they could not seen from the public. I could recognize Duke Max and Duchess Elizabeth in Bavaria and 2 sisters of Duke Carl (but not sure whioch ones).

The Mass lasted for 1 1/2 hours. In the meatime it had started to rain again but luckily when the Mass had ended it was only a little bit rain.

Rosenau Castle

Rosenau Castle and Park was bought in 1805 by Duke Franz Friedrich Anton of Saxe-Coburg- Saalfeld. He gave it to his son and successor Duke Ernst I. who used it as Summer Residence. From 17806-1817 it was rebuild in the newgothic stye and the Parc was remodelled in the english style.

It was here that on 10.08.1819 prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, the younger son of Duke Ernst I. was born. he later married his cousin Queen Victoria of Great Britain. It was later often visited by him and his wife and also after his death Queen Victoria sometimes stayed at the Castle. Duke Ernst II. the successor of Duke Ernst I. didn't use the Castle and let his nephew and successor Duke Alfred the use of it. Duke Alfred died in 1900 at the Cavallery House at the Rosenau. In 1920 the Estate was taken over by the Coburger Ladesstiftung but the daughters of Duke Alfred had use of it until 1938. After the second Wiorld War it was used as Residence for Seniores of Coburg. Only in 1972 it was bought by the State Bavaria who renovated it and since 1990 it is open for Visitors.

On 24. Aopril 2010 the 70th birthday of HRH Duchess Diane of Württemberg was celebrated at Altshausen Castle. On of the Events was a reception at the former Alte Remise of the Castle which was renovated in the past months and now reopened as Gallery where the Artworks of the Duchess are on display. Among the guests where are a lot of local politicans and people from the foundations which the Duchess helps with the sale of her artworks but also the Prime Minister of Baden-Württemberg Stefan Mappus with his wife, as the former Prime Minister Lothar Späth with his wife Ursula (who happen to be good friends of the Royal Family). Other guests included Prince Radu of Romania who walked together with the Royal family, the First Lady of Paraguay and the mayor of Stuttgart with his wife.

St. Augustiner Church at Coburg

The St. Augstiner Church in Coburg was build from 1855-1860 according Plans of Vicenz Fischer-Birnbaun. In honor of Prince August of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha wo had helped the project financiell it was inaugurated on the death anniversary of Augustinus von Hipp on 28.08.1860. Under the Church is a Crypt where the member of the catholic branch of the Ducal Family of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha the so called Kohary branch are buried.

When one comes into the Crypt under the Church there is first a little Chapel and then there are 2 Crypts. On the right is the so called Tsars Cryptand then there is another Crypt on the left side.

In the Tsars Crypt are the builder of the Crypt Prince August of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha (1818-1881) and his wife Princess Clementine, née Princess of Orléans (1818-1907) buried. Also their youngest son King Ferdinand I. of the Bulgarians (1861-1948)is buried in this Crypt.

Eberstein Castle

The Castle of Eberstein was once the property of the Counts of Eberstein. It weas first mentioned in 1272. After the Counts of Eberstein had died out in the male line the property was inherited by the margraves of Baden and the Dukes of Württemberg-Neuenstein. Theparts who belonged to Württemberg-Neuenstein became peace for peace in the property of the Margraves of baden. In 1798 Margrave Karl Friedrich of Baden handed over the castle to his son Friedrich. From 1802 the property was rebuild the newgothy Style to a Castle. Under Grand Duke Leopold also the Interieur was rebuild in the newgothic Style. In 2000 Margrave Max of Baden sold the Castle to a prvate person. It now houses a Nobel Restaurant and also a Nobel hotel.

Since 1971 the membes of the Royal Family of Bavaria are b uried at Andechs. In 1980 a special burial ground was etablished. it is down the hill on which the Moastery is located. It can be visited then one has to ask for the key to it at the Klosterpforte.

On the far side are the Graves of Duke Albrecht and his 2 wives,

The Castle dates back to the early Middle Ages and was first mentioned in 1170. In 1200 the Castle Chapel in one of the Towers was build in the romanic Style. In 1365 the Castle and its sourroundings where inherited by Otto II. of Tecklenburg who made it to one his residences. Later it came through ineritance in the psession of the Family of Bentheim-Tecklenburg who made it their Eesidnce. There where to wiongs build one in the baroque Style and one in the renaissance Style who connect the old Towers from the Middle Age. Today the Castle is the Residemce of Hereditary Prince Maximiliand and Hereditary Princess Marissa zu Bentheim-Tecklenburg. The Park of the Castle is open to the Public and he Castle can also be visited during guided Tours.

Possenhofen Castle

Today Possenhofen Castle is best known as being the childhoodhome of Empress Elisabeth of Austria, née Duchess in Bavaria but it's History is much older. The Castle was build in 1536 for Jakob Rosenbusch who was Cancellor under Duke Ludwig of Bavaria. In 1600m the Castle came in the posession of the Hans Caspar von Horwarth. In the 30year long War the Castle was destroyed but rebuil by von Horwarth. After the died the Castle was bought by Elector Ferdinand Maria of Bavaria. It then changed his ownership a few times until it ended in the posession of the Counts of la Rosée. 1834 it was then acquired by Duke Maximilian in Bavaria the father of the Empress. It remained in the posession of the Ducal Family until 1940. After that it had different destination. In 1981 the Castle was bought by Prof. Franz Schilke who restored it to it's former Glory. As the Castle is owned prvat it can not be visited but one can walke around an has a good view on it.

On Saturday 05.09.2009 the small hessian town Lich saw a number of royal and noble Guests. It was the day Hereditary Prince Carl Christian zu Solms-Hohensolms-Lichj and Countess Christina Douglas married there in a religious Ceremony. The Couple had already married civil in December 2008 in Vienna where the both live and work. The day of their religious marriage was also the day their son Louis Clemens Jamal turned 1 year old. The groom arrived as one of the first guests together with his sister Princess Caroline, Mrs. Liljenquist. The guests which inclued among others Princess Benedikte of Denmark, Hereditary Prince Heinrich Donatus and Hereditary Princess Floria of Hesse with their children Moritz and Paulina, Fürst Alexander and Fürstin Gabriella zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Sayn, Fürst Albrecht and Fürstin Marie Louise zu Castell-Castell, Fürst Franz Alexander and Hereditary Prince Alexander of Isenburg, Hereditary Prince Carl Ferdinand and Hereditary Princess Elna-Margret zu Bentheim and Steinfurt with son Jonathan, Fürst Wolfgang-Ernst, Fürstin Leonille and Princess Felizitas-Magdalena zu Ysenburg and Büdingen, Fürst Philipp and Fürstin Leonille zu Stolberg-Wernigerode, Fürst Johann Friedrich and Fürstin Maria zu Castell-Rüdenhausen and many more who where greeted at the Church door by the grooms brothers Louis and Frederik and the brides brother Count Robin Douglas. The bride arrived together with her fahter short after 11h00 CEST. The 1 hour long Ceremony which took place in the Marienstiftskirche was lead by Pastor Sven Kiesling and Adelheid Groten, who is based in Singen am Hohentwiel and has already confirmed the bride. The witnesses where Countess Natalie Hoyos, Celina von Luttitz, the grooms sister Princess Caroline zu Solms-Hohensolms-Lich, Mrs. Liljenquist and Prince Christian-Albrecht zu Sayn-Wittengenstein-berleburg. After the Ceremony the bridal Couple left the Church to the Wedding March from Felix Mendelssohn Bartholday. Outside the Church they where greeted by friends who throw rice over then. The bridal Couple and all the guests then made their Way through the Old town of Lich to the Castle accompanied by the Muschenheimer Musikzug. In the Castle a private reception took place followed by a Ball in the evening.

On 29. August 2009 the Church of Andechs Monastery saw a real royal-noble Wedding when HRH Princess Alice of Bavaria married there HSH Prince Lukas of Auersperg. The monastery is just a few miles in the southwest of Munich on top of a hill. Just down the hill inside the grounds of the monastery many relatvies of the bride are buried including her grandfather Prince Ludwig who died last year at the age of 95. The brides father Prince Luitpold is second in line to the Headship of the Royal House of Bavaria after the bachelor Duke Franz of Bavaria and his brother Duke Max in Bavaria who only has five daughters but no son. The top of the hill where the Church is was closed to the public who cold stand a little bit down the hill on the side. Many of the Guest arrived on feet and walked down the hill but also a lot where driven up the hill in Cars and small Buses. Among the Guest who where present where Duke Franz of Bavaria, Duke Max and Duchess Elizabeth in Bavaria with their 4 younger daughtes and 3 son-in-laws, Prince Rasso and Prine Therese of Bavaria, Prince Christoph of Bavaria, Prince Leopold and Princess Ursula of Bavaria with son Manuel and his wife Anna who is expecting her second child, Prince Adalbert and Princess Sandra of Bavaria, Hereditary Prince Rudolf of Croy, Duke Duarte and Duchess Isabel of Bragnaza, Fürst Albert of Thurn and Taxis, Prince Michel and Princess Leonor of Ligne.
One of the last gfuests to arrive was Duke Franz of Bavaria, the Head of the Royal Family. The bride, Princess Alice arrived short before 13h00 accompanied by her father Prince Luitpold and her older sister Princess Auguste. The Mess which was officiatred by Abtprimas Prf. Dr. Notker Wolf and Pater Valentin Ziegler lasted a little bit more then 1 hour. The witnesses where Princess Auguste of Bavaria (sister of the bride), Cordula Rommel, Benedikt Wressning, Count Felix zu Clam-Martinic, Baron Maximilian of Heine-Geldern and Constantin Gussich. Among the flower children where Princess Odilia of Bavaria, Maximilian Terberger and Prince Leopold of Bavaria. The bridal Couple walked down the Aisle to the Hallelujah of Händel and where greeted by the Guests outside the Church who had build a Passage and throw rose leaves on them. The Couple wlaked to a lawn opposide the Church where the posed for photos. Soon afterward the went into the Fürstentrakt of the Monastery where a Reception took place. Later in the afternoon the Couple left the recpetion and drove away in a car which was driven by the brides brother, Prince Ludwig of Bavaria. In the evening a private Celebration took place at Leutstetten Castle, the home of the bride's grandmother Princess Irmingard.

Laxenburg is a little village outside of Vienna which was used by the Austiran Imperial Family as Summer Residence. This traditiion was started with Emperor Karl VI. and continued by his daughter Maria Theresia. It was here where Emperor Franz Josef I. and Empresess Elisabeth (Sisi) spend their honeymoon and two of their children where born there. Also their only son Crown Prince Rudolf and his wife Stephanie spend their honeymoon there and their daughter Elisabeth was born at Laxenburg. The Castle Park who orignally was a big hunting Area is dating back to the 13th Century as is the old Castle. It orignally belonged to the Lords of Lachsenburg and is the died without male heirs it later cam into the posession of the Habsburgs. T

Villa Marienwahl Ludwigsburg

The Villa was bought by the then Prince Wilhelm in 1878 and according to the wishes of his wife, Princess Marie the Couple made it their Residence and not the Crown Princely Palace in Stuttgart. Here where their children born and it was here where pricness marie died only died in 1881 after giving birth to a stillborn daughter. Even after he Wilhelm became King in 1891 and he moved into the Wilhelmspalais in Stuttgart he used Marienwahl and not the big Residence Castle when he stayed in Ludwigsburg. After his death in 1921 Marienwahl went to his only daughter Princess Pauline who was married to Fürst Friedrich zu Wied. Fürstin Pauline died there in 1965 and is buried on the Horsepaddock behind the Villa. After her death Marienwahl was onherited by her younger son and is now in the posession of her grandson, Prince Ulrich zu Wied. As his only daghter Marie is married to Duke Friedrich of Württemberg, the oldest son of Duke Carl and future Head of the House it could be that in in the future will again belong to the House of Württemberg.

Some time ao i visited Zeil Castle the Residence of Fürst Georg and Fürstin Marie Gabriele of Waldburg zu Zeil an dTrauchburg. As they live in the Castle it is not open to the Publiic but one can walk through the Court and the Park.
